What it measures

Communication traits and measured writing characteristics describe how models express an answer.

How to read the result

Style can matter for product fit. Compare expressiveness, organization, and transparency independently of factual capability.

Limits and comparison traps

A high trait percentile is a relative style measurement. Some traits are preferences rather than universally desirable abilities.

Benchmark reference notes

Measures communication style across 30 judged traits rolled into 8 indexes: Expressiveness, Organization, Transparency, Slop, Informativeness, Warmth, Conviction, and Imagination.

Where this fits in an evaluation suite

Format compliance, preference, truthfulness, and safety require separate measurements. Keep desirable writing style from masking factual errors.

Start with a capability hypothesis, then choose a second test with a different failure mode. Keep the checkpoint, reasoning effort, agent tools, sampling policy, and scoring procedure fixed when measuring a training intervention. Record failures and missing outputs in the denominator.

A reproducible comparison

Use the exact implementation, version, task subset, tool access, attempt budget, and judge described by the source.

Publish the exact run configuration, item coverage, score units, and available uncertainty. If a source supplies only an aggregate or a single run, preserve that limit. A new model name or a rounded score alone does not establish a capability improvement.
